I've bought my Advance a few days ago but the VIP software refuses to add many of my plugins, including Omnisphere and multiple plugins from Arturia and Korg. Everything's been set up like it should and I'm following the manual 100%. I've disabled my Automap software since it conflicted with VIP.
Reinstalling VIP hasn't helped either. I ran everything as an admin with my internet connection and antivirus disabled. (If I don't, VIP won't scan at all).
I'm on Windows 8.1 Please advice. Could this be a faulty download? Did you find out where the Korg Legacy.dll files are being installed? I make sure to install all of my plugins in the same locations every time: folder for 32 bit plugins and a folder for 64 bit plugins. Once you have found out where your Korg.dll files are being installed, open the 32-bit version of VIP in standalone, not a DAW.
Use the plug-in manager to find your Korg folder and re-scan. Just to reiterate, 32 bit VIP will only scan 32 bit plugins, 64-bit VIP will only scan 64 bit plugins.
When 32 bit VIP crashes in FL, is this a 64 bit version of FL? Have you tried a 32 bit version? All my 32 bit plugins are in one folder, and the 64 plugs in another, just like it should be. Oddly, the M1 works now but the Wavestation doesn't. This maybe due to a plugin map missing, I haven't investigated further. I'm now aware of the way the 32 and 64 vip's are separated in terms of what type of plugin can be added, and it does make sense.
Still, it doesn't change the fact that not all plugins show up like they're supposed to, despite the dll's being in the appropriate folders. My 32 VIP has been crashing in the 64 bit FL and occasionally in stand alone mode. I use 64 bit FL, in order to access the additional CPU power that the 32 bit do not offer. I haven't tried wrapping the 32 bit VIP in the 32 bit FL, but I doubt that would change anything since VIP has been crashing outside the DAW as well.

Prior if you have any jbridged vst's, go to jbridge properties, and run as administrator under compatibility tab 1. Clear your schedule 2. Open VIP 64 and/or 32 bi. Open plugin manager under settings tab. Uncheck any folder on THE left that is not 64bit plugins. (VICE VERSA FOR 32BIT WHEN YOU GO BACK AND OPEN 32BIT VIP) 5. Find your plugin folder for 64bit vst's OR just check 64bit program folder(LONGER PROCESS BUT WORTH IT IF YOU HAVE PLUGINS THROUGHOUT YOUR 64BIT PROGRAM FOLDER).
32BIT PLUGINS CAN BR FOUND IN PROGRAMS(x86) FOLDER OK. Re-scan folder. Go through and check plugins that you use for production.
UNCHECK FX,EQ, AND MASTERING PLUGINS. There will be a Keyboard Icon by the vst instruments and Wave icon for Fx and misc.
After this just press ok. Go back to main screen and restart program. Should be good afterwards. I hope this helps. Prior if you have any jbridged vst's, go to jbridge properties, and run as administrator under compatibility tab 1.

However, this was 8 months ago and a lot have changed. I changed to Windows 10 and upgraded to FL12. The issues I had don't seem to appear anymore. I have no idea why but as long as it works, I don't really care:-D I've learned to live with having 32 and 64 bit plugins in separate VIPs and it is just a matter of habits.
The M1 still doesn't work though but I can live with using that one outside the VIP system. Your solutions seems well thought out and others having the same issues should def check it out:-). However, this was 8 months ago and a lot have changed.

Hello, I am new to this forum and to the Akai Advance/VIP. As I go through my plugins via VIP, I am interested in this thread and the roadmap for future support for plugins by VIP.
Something I don't understand is the statement on the Akai support page here: '.this does not include VST effects or VST3 plugins which are a separate category used in very few virtual instruments.' Very few virtual instruments? Thats a curious statement to me when Steinberg calls VST3 '.the most stable and reliable VST platform ever.'
These seem like contradicting statements and ideals for 2 big companies in the same business. Also, I see that the latest Arturia V Collection 5 is mostly VST3. Isn't Arturia popular? So far I love what the Advance can do with the VIP software but there seem to be massive roadblocks and I hope Akai is listening and making progress.
After scanning this forum it seems more quiet than it should be from Akai. For a product thats been out for quite some time I would expect more tutorials. The YT videos are Is this the only community for Akai Advance VIP users? Is there Facebook/Twitter etc?
Please let me know. Thanks everyone - Patrick.

Thanks, I have the Arturia Vintage collection and I noticed that the maps 'kinda work'. But once you start playing with the physical control knobs on the Advance to control the mapped knobs in a plugin I notice that some of them control 2 knobs simultaneously! For example, if I go to the Arturia Prophet V2 11-Brass and move the Cutoff knob in the Filter section in Bank A it also controls the previous Noise knob in the Mixer section. That cant be correct because if I use the virtual knobs in the VIP software this doesn't happen. I am new to this so maybe there is an update to the maps or firmware?
I am on firmware 1.19 I found a thread with a zip for these, which helped fix the eLicense issue but it doesn't matter if the knobs are mapped incorrectly: Mini V2 eLic FIX.vip Prophet V2 eLic FIX.vip btw this seems to happen with every sound I select in the Prophet V2.
